Our workshop

TSUMAMI-ZAIKU

Fabric Flowers Made by Folding

This is a type of “pinching craft” called tsumami zaiku, made using small 1.5 cm square pieces of fabric. By folding each piece like origami, you create delicate decorative ornaments. The only tools needed are tweezers and glue. Despite its elegant appearance, it’s an easy craft for beginners to try.

KIRIGAMI

Paper-cutting work

Kirigami (切り紙) is a traditional Japanese paper art that involves folding and cutting paper—without the use of glue. Similar to origami, kirigami is a form of paper crafting, but unlike origami, which relies solely on folding, kirigami adds the element of cutting to create intricate designs.

Semori

Embroidery

Semamori (背守り) are symbolic embroidered amulets traditionally sewn onto the backs of children's clothing to offer protection and good fortune. At our workshop, we create greeting cards featuring traditional Japanese patterns, delicately stitched onto paper with embroidery.
